Case set to introduce automatic headland turn system

Drivers of Case IH tractors equipped with AccuGuide auto-steering will soon be able to relax and let the machine take care of headland turns at the press of a button.

The system’s new AccuTurn feature, being introduced for European operators this spring, adds to the well-documented benefits of straight line and curve auto steering by taking charge of the tractor during turns as well.

The tractor operator can to adjust parameters such as headland width, the shape of the curve when turning and the starting point for the turn.

Case IH says the system not only relieves driver workload – which can be significant when preparing heavyweight and complex implements for a turn and putting them back into work again – but also ensures the entry to each new pass is as precise as possible.

AccuTurn will guide the tractor appropriately for both mounted and trailed implements, and the operator can to adjust parameters such as headland width, the shape of the curve when turning and the starting point for the turn.

The distance until the headland turn begins is displayed on the AFS 700 terminal and the operator triggers an auto turn by pushing a button.

This new feature will be a cost-option for new and existing AccuGuide systems unlocked by a dealer-supplied code.
