Soucy AceTrack18 for Case IH Rowtrac tractors

A new traction belt design from Canadian tracks specialist Soucy has been approved by Case IH as a factory-fitted option for Magnum and Steiger Rowtrac tractors.

The 457mm (18in) wide Soucy AceTrack18 is designed to withstand yard-to-field road travel at up to 40kph (25mph), generating significantly less heat within the carcase than competitor alternatives, according to Soucy test comparisons. Excessive heat is a major threat to complex structures such as tyres and traction belts on tractors that are repeatedly and rapidly flexed under load during road travel.

Soucy AceTrack18 40% more durable

The combination of materials and compounds used and the way they are structured in the AceTrack18 belts makes them up to 40% more durable than some of the alternatives subjected to comparison testing, according to the manufacturer. Soucy engineers also maintain that no tread bar failures were experienced during “extensive testing”, which has led the company to provide a lifetime tread ‘blowout’ warranty with every belt.

In-field performance is also said to be good, partly thanks to the 35mm (1.4in) depth of the tread bars, which are spaced relatively close together to minimise vibration, especially on a road or track surface.

Annie Lavoie, general manager at Soucy Caoutchouc, the unit that makes traction belts, says that Case IH’s decision to list the AceTrack18 as a factory-fitted option is an endorsement of the build quality and performance achieved with the new design.

It is currently available in Australia and North America.
