Dal-Bo Depth Control for cultivators and rollers
Monitoring cultivation depth to achieve consistency across different soil types and conditions is going electronic with a measuring system and in-cab display developed by Danish manufacturer Dal-Bo for selected implements in its range.
The Depth Control system uses an ultrasonic sensor on the implement connected to an LCD display in the cab. It portrays the aggressiveness and working depth of the tines, enabling the operator to check the cultivator’s sub-surface setting through different soil types and after the implement if lifted out and put back into work during each headland turn. Operators can then adjust the implements on the move to aim for a seedbed of consistent quality across the field.

Depth Control system easier and more effective
Apart from being more comfortable and better for the operator’s well-being than repeatedly twisting around in the seat to monitor the implement, says Dal-Bo, it is easier and more effective than trying to read a distant mechanical scale in dusty or low light conditions.
The system is a new option on the Dal-Bo RolloMaximum cultivator, which positions 4 rows of spring tines between 2 sets of serrated or smooth ring rollers, with soil levelling at the front of the implement performed by paddle tines or a full-width levelling board.

Instead of twisting in the seat and squinting at a distant mechanical scale, users of Dal-Bo’s Depth Control system can keep an eye on cultivator tine settings using an in-cab display.
A proximity sensor positioned alongside the depth adjustment hydraulic cylinder measures the distance to the surface from which the working depth of the soil-engaging tool is calculated.
The Dal-Bo Depth Control monitoring system is designed to help operators achieve consistent cultivation depth across the field, especially where variable soils and conditions make this more difficult to achieve by eye.
The Depth Control system works with the Crackerboard levelling tines and the spring tine section of the implement.

It can also be used for the Crackerboard and the 16mm flexible tines option available for MaxiRoll 3-section folding rollers, and for the Crackerboard on Dal-Bo’s MiniMax, PowerRoll, CultiLift, CultiTrail and CultiMax implements.
Name: Depth Control
