The new Case IH Magnum tractors feature much-enhanced connectivity and data management options.
The new Case IH Magnum tractors were unveiled in the United States, as can be seen in the video at the bottom of this article. The tractors have a new computer operating system (believed to be Android-based), a new satellite guidance correction signal receiver and also a new in-cab display, the 12in AFS Pro 1200 to replace the 10.4in AFS Pro 700.
All of which brings new capabilities, including remote display view for operator and service support, and a Bluetooth link to a mobile phone so that it can also show the display.

2020 model year Case IH
The 2020 model year Case IH machines will succeed the current Magnum range, which in terms of max output for draft work runs from 200hp to 417hp in North America and Australia, and from 315hp to 417hp in Europe.
Jay Barth, marketing manager for high-horsepower tractors, says the new set-up enables growers to share information with preferred providers, perform remote diagnostics and make data-driven decisions from any location related to operations performed by the tractor.

The new connectively abilities are based on AFS Connect, the Case IH internet portal that provides access to data collected from tractors and other equipment for service and maintenance management, problem alerts and field operation efficiency management.
Machine data shared with dealers
It also stores agronomic data that provides a whole-farm record of enterprises and performance, which can selectively be shared with agronomists and farm input suppliers, in the way that machine data can be shared with dealers to help with problem-solving and scheduled servicing.
This is enhanced with remote service support on the latest Magnum tractors, which can help identify maintenance and service needs, and the parts needed, for right-first-time visits by workshop technicians.

Changes inside the cab include the introduction of Case IH’s AFS 1200 Pro, a larger display married to a new operating system, and a more modern display on the right-hand cab pillar, plus a fresh design for the armrest console and multi-function controller.
Precision farming packages
Similarly, being able to view what the AFS Pro 1200 terminal is displaying in the tractor cab will enable managers to help operators with tractor and implement set-up, and with issues relating to precision farming packages operated through the terminal.
A Bluetooth connection pairs the display with a mobile phone as an alternative remote viewing option.
Chris Dempsey, Case IH Advanced Farming Systems marketing manager:
The integrated technology in the Magnum series tractor with AFS Connect enables seamless communication between producers and their trusted partners and providers
“Whether receiving a planting prescription from an agronomist or reviewing an operational question in real time with remote display viewing from 3 miles or 300 miles away, these time-saving opportunities are critical to maintaining uptime in tight working windows.”
New AFS Vision Pro operating system
The new AFS Vision Pro operating system is said to be “familiar and easy to use”, with pre-programmed hot keys providing quick access to functions that may be altered as work progresses in changeable conditions.
Meanwhile, the AFS Vector Pro satellite signal receiver is designed to streamline guidance correction options, ranging from base level WAAS and AFS 1 to medium accuracy (AFS 2) and high-definition RTK and RTK+ levels.
New armrest control console
Enhancement inside the existing cab structure include a new armrest control console with a press-to-select dial for navigating pages on the AFS 1200 Pro display, and a new design multi-function controller for the PowerDrive powershift or CVXDrive transmissions, rear hitch and hydraulics functions.
