The May edition of Future Farming (issue 2) can now be read in the digital magazine section.

Farmers try to use resources and inputs as efficiently as possible and try to match the amounts used with the quantities crops need, and to minimise the environmental impact. Precision farming technologies can help farmers in doing so.

Fertiliser spreaders

Herbicide spot spraying innovations

Modern sensor technology can assist in applying inputs accurately, and we’ve made an overview of herbicide spot spraying innovations. A technology that was used in 2003 already by one of our 10 most innovative farmers Manfred Hurtz! He however carefully mentions that shortages of precipitation, like in 2017, 2018 and also in 2019 (he received 200 – 300 mm versus 600 mm normally), have far bigger impacts on harvests.
