Web tool improves compatibility between tractor guidance systems

The tool, developed by German farm software specialist FarmFacts and machinery manufacturer AGCO, enables growers to convert geodata including waylines and field boundaries, so that it can be used in AGCO products.

Powered by Fuse, the Next Farming Wayline Converter produces data that is compatible with the Auto-Guide and Auto-Guide 3000 systems available on AGCO’s Challenger, Massey Ferguson and Valtra tractors and harvesters, and the equivalent Fendt VarioGuide system.

Existing customers get exclusive access to tool

The conversion tool complements the Next Farming cloud-based farm management system developed by FarmFacts and is available initially on an exclusive basis to FarmFacts and AGCO customers.

Other guidance providers are being invited to join as partners for the converter tool, which can be accessed on the Wayline website.

AGCO has partnered management software specialist FarmFacts to produce a guidance system converter enabling use of geo-data from partner’s guidance systems in AGCO’s Fuse guidance products.

AGCO promotes an ‘open’ approach to its Fuse Technologies suite of precision farming products to encourage seamless integration and connectivity to the benefit of customers.

Geodata converter

Central to that strategy is a partnering model whereby AGCO seeks agreements with other trusted providers in the agriculture industry to facilitate connections.

The geodata converter is said to be one of the first of its kind for the agricultural industry.
