Sentera launches AGX840 professional quad drone sensor
A high-specification quad sensor for drone-based crop scanning is due to be available from February 2019.
The AGX840 from US-based Sentera is aimed at commercial enterprises and academic researchers using DJI Matrice M200 and M210 autonomous rotorcraft. It follows the introduction of a gimbal-mount version of Sentera’s Quad sensor for DJI Inspire and Matrice drones used by agronomists and others.

The Sentera AGX840 is gimbal-mounted on a drone with gimbal control via iOS and Android apps for high-level image stability.
Counter aircraft motion
The AGX840 is mounted to the drone by a high-speed brushless gimbal, which has been designed, says Sentera, for high-level image stability and control by stabilising the imager in flight. It aims to counter aircraft motion to ensure the image path is oriented straight down for high-accuracy applications, and full gimbal control via iOS and Android apps is supported, says Sentera.

The sensor’s standard configuration of RGB, Red, Red Edge (NDRE) and NIR can be customised with a variety of standard or custom filtering options – with thousands of unique configurations, according to the manufacturer – and data from the AGX840 are said to be compatible with preferred software analytics tools.
Seamless software and data integration
DJI’s Payload Software Development Kit (P-SDK) and Skyport technology are said to assure seamless software and data integration, as well as ‘plug and play’ with snap-in, snap-out connectivity requiring no wires or special brackets. The device is available for pre-orders at prices from $ 4999.
