Background

Ag Leader InCommand single internet connection

Connecting to the internet for more than one function has been made simpler for users of Ag Leader InCommand terminals used in North America for guidance, implement control and data documentation.

Instead of having to use separate data connections, Ag Leader has introduced a modem enabling all internet-based functionality in the tractor or sprayer cab to be accessed through a single data connection source.

Simpler access

The US-based precision farming systems acknowledges that farmers need a simple way to access a reliable internet connection in the cab for precise machine control and auto steer requiring RTK correction, and to access real-time and historical maps and data stored online. With its new firmware release and modem, InCommand displays have the ability to connect to NTRIP networks for RTK corrections and to Ag Leader’s AgFiniti cloud-based data management platform through the same connection using one cellular data plan.

A ‘ruggedised’ cellular modem built to withstand the rigours of being used in a farm vehicle cab is now available from Ag Leader dealers; it automatically powers ‘on’ with the InCommand display. Growers can still use their own hotspot to bring internet to the tractor or applicator cab.

Terminal features

The InCommand 800 is an 8.4 in tablet-like unit with tap, swipe, pinch, pan and zoom gesture control, home screen icons to open applications and an integrated light bar for visual guidance.

The larger 12.1 in InCommand 1200 has split screen capability, wireless iPad connection and the capacity for additional planter, yield and water management monitoring and control functions.

Both terminals feature DisplayCast to share prescription maps, guidance lines and other data with a second terminal in a separate machine, and can operate isobus-compliant implements.
