New features for Muddy Boots’ crop recording software

Greenlight Grower Management, a cloud-based crop recording software platform, has new features and functionalities, which are said to make it easier for users to integrate data with internal systems and thereby prevent duplication while promoting more efficient decision-making.

Greenlight Grower Management from UK’s Muddy Boots Software is used by farmers and agronomists to build crop records and help manage day-to-day agronomy and crop treatment decisions and actions. Following a series of new feature introductions, users can now make fertiliser plans and create harvest records across multi-field cropping, access weather forecasting, and use templates and copy functions speed up input of multiple field inspections or treatment recommendations.

It also possible to integrate price lists, order products and access customer relationship information, using the system in an office, remote locations or out in the field. “Having the information to help make time-sensitive or critical decisions wherever you are will become increasingly important as growers place greater reliance on precision farming and machinery integration,” says Paul Thomas of Muddy Boots. “Because this approach produces larger and more complex data files that need to be accessed and shared with stakeholders.”

The platform provides growers with a full view of all farming activity, presented over a Google map and indicating any pests or diseases that may be present on a field.

Growers and agronomists can see what activity has been carried out to rectify problems and can use the geo-located inspections to revisit and confirm effectiveness of treatments.

With all financial aspects of the business also now manageable through Greenlight Grower Management, the company behind it believes the platform has greater breadth of functionality and detail than any farm-based software or app. Remote access is through an iPhone or iPad app, providing access to data and decision-making whether or not the device is online.
