Trimble launches new display and guidance controller
At Agritechnica Trimble introduced the new GFX-350 display and NAV-500 controller.
The new GFX-350 is an Android-based high-definition touchscreen display. The 7-inch screen is easy to read and can be used to control most field operations with a few taps, says Trimble.
Compatible with NAV-500 and NAV-900
The GFX-350 is compatible with both the new NAV-500 and NAV-900 guidance controllers. Once vehicles are fields, implements and materials are set up during the first use, they are saved and can be re-used with a couple of clicks.
The new display is fully ISOBUS compatible, offering plug-and-play capability for ISO-enabled implements with native task controller and universal terminal functionality.
Seamless sharing of data
The display also features onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing seamless sharing of data between the office and the field via optional Trimble Connected Farm solutions. “General record keeping and proof of placement reporting has never been easier”, says Trimble.

NAV-500 guidance controller
The NAV-500 guidance controller features a low-profile rugged housing capable of receiving signals from 5 different GNSS satellite constellations – GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou and QZSS. Trimble says it offers sub-meter repeatable accuracy and full-farm coverage ideal for tillage, broad-acre seeding, spraying and harvest operations.
By using Trimble’s ViewPoint RTX satellite-delivered correction service with the NAV-500, operators can consistently achieve 15 centimeter pass-to-pass accuracy.
Automatically control steering
Paired with either the new GFX-350 display or larger 10-inch (25.4-centimeter) GFX-750 display, the NAV-500 can provide roll-corrected manual guidance or can automatically control steering with the EZ-Steer assisted steering system and EZ-Pilot Pro steering system.

According to Trimble the GFX-350 display and NAV-500 guidance controller can be installed in half a day. The display uses a quick release RAM mount for easy transfer between vehicles, and typically requires only 2 cables to be attached.
The GFX-350 display and NAV-500 guidance controller are expected to be available for order in the fourth quarter 2019 from the Trimble dealer and Vantage distribution networks.

- Precision-IQ is a unified field application management platform for all Trimble displays. It already featured downloadable apps, a graphical interface, and full Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for on-the-go browsing. It can now control serial variable rate implements, the new WeedSeeker 2 spot spray system, multi-rate point ISO applications, field access paths and NH3 (ammonia) application through the Field-IQ crop input control system.

Precision-IQ field application management software will be included with all new Trimble displays. - Trimble and subsidiary Müller-Elektronik announced technology enhancements that enable farmers to combine advanced Müller displays with Trimble’s guidance controllers. The solution will allow the TRACK-Guide III (Touch 800) and Touch 1200 displays to automatically guide the vehicle using Trimble’s lineup of steering systems in the NAV-900 guidance controller.
- The Auto Asset Selection App installed on the GFX-750 or GFX-350 display, and Bluetooth beacons strategically placed on farm equipment, Trimble’s Precision-IQ field application will automatically select the correct implement configuration. Farmers must: 1) Set up an implement in Precision-IQ; 2) pair that configuration with the unique broadcast ID of a Bluetooth beacon; and 3) attach the beacon to the configured equipment. Every time a GFX display is within range of the beacon, such as by backing up a tractor to the implement, it will automatically select that equipment configuration for field work.
The Auto Asset Selection App can even be set up to detect implement work-state, and prevent field work from beginning if equipment is not deployed and ready to run.
