FluroSat’s data is integrated into Netafim’s automated irrigation and fertigation cloud-based platform, NetBeat.

Precision irrigation company Netafim and FluroSat, a company in remote field sensing and analytics, have announced their collaboration on integrating FluroSat’s data into Netafim’s automated irrigation and fertigation cloud-based platform, NetBeat. FluroSat’s remote sensing and plant metrics combined with Netafim’s NetBeat platform is to enable easier, more precise, and more reliable irrigation, fertigation and crop management decisions.

Site-specific irrigation recommendations

As a result of this collaboration, Netafim’s customers (and particularly NetBeat owners) get access to advanced crop monitoring tools as a standalone monitoring and analysis service or directly integrated into Netafim’s NetBeat. This results in site-specific irrigation recommendations with near-real-time adjustment of irrigation and fertigation quantities based on the current crop condition assessed by FluroSense.

Detection of crop stress

The FluroSense agronomic analytics engine provides data about the performance and the status of the crops, reporting biomass levels, canopy cover, growth stage, and crop development trends for every field or block on a farm.

In addition to crop performance, FluroSense also enables detection of crop stress stemming from nutrient deficiency, pest, disease or irrigation system issues such as leaks and sends out corresponding alerts.

High value for farmers

“We designed Netbeat to be an open platform since we believe that joint innovation is the way of the future,” said Guy Leventon, VP Digital Farming at Netafim. “We have examined dozens of new technologies with the aim of incorporating the best into the Netbeat platform. After comprehensive testing we concluded that FluroSat brings unique capabilities that will result in high value for farmers.”

Following the pilot across a range of crops in Netafim key regions (North America, South America, Australia), FluroSense analytics is being rolled out across the Netafim network and is available to all dealers and customers of Netafim.

Transform data into conclusive insights

“Our agronomic analytics engine FluroSense was designed to be a “translation layer” that transforms all data available about the crops into conclusive insights for the person or the machine making crop management decisions,” said Anastasia Volkova, PhD, CEO and Founder of FluroSat.

“FluroSenseTM is heavily automated and was designed to work without human in the loop. We are very excited to partner with Netafim to demonstrate what this “no touch” approach can mean for global agriculture in terms of timely precise crop management and irrigation in particular.”

Exchange of farm boundaries and crop information

Now Netafim customers will soon have access (directly or through their local Netafim agronomist/dealer) to FluroSense analytics via direct integration, which allows for farm boundaries and crop information to be exchanged and for automated crop monitoring to be activated.

The immediate benefits to Netafim customers include: weekly Crop Performance Summary Reports and regular Crop Stress Alert Emails. The two companies will continue their collaboration in developing analytics products.
