Description

The robot harvests fully autonomous by following the bed and detecting the asparagus without touching the bed. The maximum harvesting speed is 1.0 m/s (3.6 km/h) and the speed control is adaptive, depending on the amount of speers. The robot requires one operator to collect the harvested asparagus, to turn the robot at the end of each row, to feed the black/white foil and push the green button. For services purposes, the harvesting module has a quick release which the operator can switch in 5 minutes if necessary. Service in the field is possible thanks to remote access.

Drive train type

The drive train is powered by a 25 kW diesel engine and a generator to supply electricity. The complete robot is based on electric systems and the harvest modules by compressed air.

Characteristics

12 harvest modules, harvest reach 400 mm, harvest length 250-400 mm, automatic height control and automatic bed care. The maximum harvesting speed is 3,6 km/h resulting in a harvesting capacity of 0,35 ha/h.

Navigation system

During the harvesting process, the robot follows the bed controlled by sensors and stops automatically when it reaches the end of the row or when the emergency system detects an obstacle.
