The first FarmBot Genesis was produced in 2016 after R&D started in 2014. It is powered by electrical plug-in and currently operates on 1.5 x 3 m plots (Genesis) or 3 x 6 m plots (XL). For navigation it uses a Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) system and it works the same as a 3D printer and CNC router that has been modified to do gardening operations. The FarmBot Genesis is 100% open source so all our engineering design and CAD models and software code is available online for free. Users can design their own tools and custom software. Genesis requires a reliable power and water source and a reliable internet connection.
Availability: It is for sale in 75 countries, mainly in North America (USA, Canada and Mexico) and Europe. FarmBot is currently developing a weed trimmer tool.
