Austrian machinery manufacturer Pöttinger is launching a new 12-metre-wide precision harrow on the Dutch market: the Tinecare V 12050 Master. This Tinecare harrow performs mechanical weed control and works independently of crop rows. As a result, the implement is suitable for almost all arable crops, regardless of whether the land has been ploughed.
The Tinecare V 12050 Master precision harrow from Pöttinger has a working width of 12 metres and is fitted with 400 tines (expandable with 6 additional tines). The tine pressure is hydraulically adjustable from 500 to 6,000 grams. The operator can adjust the pressure while driving, from the tractor cab. The tine angle and frame height are also adjustable, making the machine suitable for light to intensive soil cultivation.
Thanks to the sturdy 5-part foldable frame (transport width 2.95 metres), large support wheels and 6 tine bars with ample space (360 mm between the rows), the operation remains stable and consistent according to the manufacturer — even when there is a high amount of crop residue.
The tines are widely mounted and spring-loaded. This, according to Pöttinger, reduces maintenance and slows down wear. As an option, the machine can be equipped with Durastar Plus carbide tines and a harrow.
Early-stage harrowing enables crops to make optimal use of light, water and nutrients. Even when the crop is more developed, the machine remains effective, Pöttinger states. The harrow is suitable for both organic and conventional cropping systems.
Pöttinger reports that the 12-metre-wide Tinecare-harrow, with a weight of around 2.3 tonnes, will be available from September. The manufacturer has not yet announced a price.
