€ 550k for simpler and safer drone flights

De Tijd, a Belgian newspaper, reports that start-up Airobot, also Belgian, secured € 550,000 in a first round of funding. The company mainly focusses on land surveying and making volumetric calculations based on aerial imagery.

Commercialise the Z-mapper drone

It wants to use the funding to commercialise its Z-mapper drone that is based on the Acecore ZOE, a professional all-weather-drone with an autonomy of over 30 minutes.

Airobot also wants to further develop its A-mapper drone, a small surveillance drone that broadcasts real-time video imagery.

In 2019, the company will move to the new Campus Droneport in Sint-Truiden, which is a new campus dedicated to innovation in aviation to open early 2019.
