Ag Leader adds Live Maps to AgFiniti, which sends live planting maps to a connected AgFiniti mobile app.

Live Maps is a new tool for AgFiniti, the Ag Leader precision agriculture solution that connects operations by supplying information across displays and connected devices.

Live mapping to AgFiniti mobile app

Live Maps is what Ag Leader calls “the next step in connectivity”. With live mapping to the AgFiniti mobile app, farmers no longer need to wonder what’s happening throughout the planting or sowing operation, or wait until the end of the day or to drive to the field to see what happened.

With Live Maps farmers can see what’s happening during the planting operation. Information such as the location of the machine, its driving speed, sowing or planting results is shown on a map live.

At the moment, Live Maps can be used for sowing or planting, but in the near future – within 4 or 5 months – spraying, crop care, application of fertilizers and harvest will follow.

“A farmer can instantly see how much seed is sown, and predict when the machine is empty. He can anticipate by sending a lorry with seed to the field. Live Maps is designed to make farmers’ operations easier and quicker,” said Paul Rose, Ag leader’s territory manager for Western Europe.

Ag Leader Live Maps free to use

Live Maps is free to use for farmers who have an Ag Finiti account. It is now available. At the moment, Live Maps can be used for sowing or planting, but in the near future – within 4 or 5 months – spraying, crop care, application of fertilizers and harvest will follow.

New prescription features

Ag Leader also introduces new prescription features. With prescriptions for planting farmers can build a planting recommendation for either corn or soybeans, based on a combination of their harvest datasets and the NCCPI from their soil survey information.
By calculating the relationship between the actual field data and this index, the resulting prescription will allow farmers to define planting population for up to 3 yield zones.

Another new feature is prescriptions for all operations; there is unlimited flexibility and control over all field operations by allowing farmers to generate a prescription based on any map within AgFiniti.
Included with AgFiniti’s prescriptions tool is a new Multi-Year Analysis map that generates average and normalized yield maps for all purchased fields with grain harvest layers in AgFiniti. Multi-year analysis maps are automatically generated and updated as new yield data is available and ready as an input to build prescriptions.
