Trimble has added Australian Next Instruments to its Trimble Select network of technology providers.

This means that Next Instruments’ CropScan 3300H onboard NIR analyser for combine harvesters becomes available through the Trimble and Vantage distribution networks in the United States and Australia.

Next Instruments CropScan 3300H

Next Instruments’ CropScan 3300H is an on combine near infrared (NIR) analyser, that measures protein, oil and moisture in cereal grains and oil seeds as they are stripped in a combine harvester. The system is the brainchild of the company’s CEO Phil Clancy who started Next Instruments in 1997.

Future Farming reported earlier about how the technology is enabling Australian farmers to map their fields and get more for their grain and Phil Clancy revealed the secrets of his success and failures in Future Farming Magazine 4-2019. He said: “Our first attempts, from 2003 to 2008, weren’t that successful. In 2013 we had a product that really worked. Since then we have fine-tuned the device. For the last seven years, we’ve been marketing our combine NIR analyser around the world.”

He also said Trimble had been trialling the technology since 2015 to ensure it was a fit with their brand. And as of today, the CropScan 3300H analyser is available through the Trimble and Vantage distribution networks in the United States and Australia.

Trimble Select Precision ag marketplace

Trimble Agriculture says Trimble Select is the first precision ag marketplace to bring complementary products from Trimble Select Business Partners to the farming community. Trimble Select Business Partners are independent companies who market and distribute their products and services through Trimble’s worldwide distribution network. These include amongst others MagGrow spraying technology, senseFly drones, LAFORGE tractor-implement interaction and Sencrop weather stations.

Trimble Select Digital

Also part of the market place, is Trimble Select Digital through which the company aims to partner with developers of apps that enhance precision ag field work and add extra functionality to the Trimble Android terminal family.
