Twin capability for new ISOBUS CCI 1200 terminal

A new ISOBUS capable display for use in tractors and other agricultural vehicles has twin terminal capability enabling operators to monitor and regulate 2 implements simultaneously.

The CCI 1200 terminal developed by Competence Center ISOBUS in Germany has a 12.1in screen, which makes it significantly larger than the current 8.4in CCI 100 and CCI 200 terminals.

The new large-screen terminal from Competence Centre ISOBUS has a user configurable display and large on-screen ‘buttons’.

This allows greater flexibility in the display layout, so users can organise the display in different ways; for example, showing 2 applications next to each other, such as a remote camera feed or map view alongside an implement display.

The displays can be arranged in either portrait or landscape format and a ‘maxi-view’ option is available providing extra-large keys for ease of use.

2 applications can be shown at once on the CCI 1200 terminal – in this case, information on a Lemken Azurit planter and a remote camera feed.

Multi-touch operation in combination with new menu navigation is said to make the device more like a smartphone to use, with a reduced number of clicks needed to select functions.

Symbols on the keys are carried over from other CCI terminals to ensure they are familiar to existing users upgrading to the new device, while a ‘settings help’ feature explains more complex tasks, such as choosing the correct delay time for automatic Section Control, with step-by-step guidance.

With software for 2 ISOBUS Universal Terminal functions built-in, the terminal can show displays relating to a pair of implements – such as the Krone BiG Pack baler and a bale accumulator illustrated.

Apps for automatic section and variable rate control are available and there is built-in capability for switching tramline equipment according to satellite-based positioning and variable rate prescription maps in ISO-XML or Shape format, and rate control on implements such as fertiliser spreaders that support control points can be regulated separately to the left and right.

Software for 2 universal terminals (ISOBUS UT) is included so that operators can simultaneously display information relating to a pair of implements – such as a rear-mounted planter and a front-mounted fertiliser applicator, for example.

The new terminal has been developed by a consortium of competing implement manufacturers.

The new CCI 1200 terminal is available now from Grimme, Krone, Kuhn, Lemken and Rauch – all members of the consortium that created the Competence Center ISOBUS business – and will be available from other partners in the enterprise from mid-2018.
