Background

Variable applications of up to 4 fertilisers in 1 pass

Individual variable rate application of up to 4 crop nutrients is possible with the latest self-propelled dry fertiliser spreader from John Deere.

Powered by a 9-litre Deere PowerTech engine channelling up to 400hp through a continuously variable transmission, the F4365 is said to operate faster more comfortably thanks to leaf-spring axle suspension front and rear.

Field speeds up to 48kph (30mph) and road speeds up to 74kph (46mph) are available, which together with a larger New Leader body of 9.3cu m (330cu ft) capacity, results in an overall increase in output potential.

The plain or painted stainless-steel bin is available with up to 4 compartments for spreading straights and micronutrients in combination.

Conveyor belts deliver product to the rear-mounted stainless steel discs, which can spread suitable material at widths of 18-27m (60-90ft) and at rates suited to both fertiliser and lime.

Spreading is regulated by the SpreadStar rate control system and a Deere 4600 in-cab display provides variable rate, data recording and fleet management functions, while JDLink Connect enables wireless data transfer and remote service adviser to be used.

A new cab – the CommandView III from Deere’s larger tractors – is said to provide quieter and more comfortable operator accommodation, with improved seat swivel and new remote cameras giving operators a better view of the field and dry box, and of the material being spread.
