Airbus Defence and Space and The Climate Corporation (Climate, part of Bayer) announced a new global agreement to deliver Airbus satellite imagery to farmers through The Climate Corporation’s Climate FieldView platform.

The agreement will enable farmers using the FieldView platform to use high-resolution satellite data of their fields from the Airbus SPOT 6, SPOT 7 and Pléiades satellites – throughout the growing season.

Monitor crop health and performance more precise

Airbus says it will give FieldView customers the ability to monitor crop health and performance more precise. Along with other data including planting and yield data, it is to unlock new insights about crop health.

SPOT on accuracy

According to Airbus, the large swath and coverage capabilities of the SPOT satellites enable mapping down to individual fields and parcels, while the Pléiades satellites can be used to pinpoint details in specific areas, thanks to its combination of sub-meter resolution and multispectral bands.

First launched in the United States in 2015, the Climate FieldView platform currently is on more than 60 million paid acres across the United States, Canada, Brazil and Europe.

Airbus Defence and Space is gradually expanding its (satellite) offerings and concepts for farmers including the SIMA silver medal winning solution Live NBalance with John Deere and the Verde API to any precision agriculture portal for detailed crop analytics.
