Smart pneumatic spreader with automation for more precise fertilizer application
German manufacturer Horsch will bring its new Leeb Xeric 14 FS pneumatic fertilizer spreader into series production in 2026. The machine combines wide working widths with automated control systems to ensure highly accurate fertilizer distribution, even at higher speeds and on uneven terrain.
After its first appearance at Agritechnica 2023, the Xeric 14 FS has been further developed based on extensive field experience. The spreader features a 14 m³ capacity, short filling and spreading times, and a maximum working speed of 20 km/h (12.4 mph). It will be available in 36, 39, and 48 m working widths.
BoomControl system for precision
The Leeb Xeric 14 FS is equipped with Horsch’s BoomControl technology, which uses sensors to constantly measure the distance to the ground or crop. The hydraulics automatically adjust to slopes or bumps, keeping the boom stable at the correct height. This prevents over- or under-application of fertilizer, even at high speeds or on uneven terrain.
Automated calibration and section control
The PrecisionCalibration system allows quick and accurate adjustments for different fertilizer types and rates. With PrecisionSpread Pro and Pro Plus, the spreader also offers section control and curve compensation. The transport and metering system is designed to reduce wear and minimize costs.
The tandem chassis and active steering on both axles, adopted from the Leeb 12 TD sprayer, ensure maximum maneuverability and crop protection.
Tire pressure control as an option
New in the lineup is an optional tire pressure control system, enabling operators to adjust tire pressure while driving. This helps reduce soil compaction, especially on lighter soils.Horsch has not yet announced the price of the Leeb Xeric 14 FS.
